The ability to select a souce rack and a destination rack and have NetBox identify possible routes from nearby front ports, through connected rear ports from the source (or nearby) to the destination (or nearby).

Use case
Patch panels may have viable routes from the source rack to a destination rack, perhaps via some intermediate racks which may or may not already have front ports patched through, but it is not currently possible to identify potential routes without trial connecting to a front port and seeing where it goes. Presumably, with the plethora of sat-nav software on the market today, the algorithms for identifying routes from one point to another via intermediate points are well established? Adding this functionality to NetBox would be a killer feature IMHO. |
